Kit setup

Idk if anyone else does this but once a month I do a complete inventory of what I have and what I need for my combat kit. But when I change something in my main loadout I like to lay everything out and then go through everything and figure out how im going to run something or how im going to use the gear. What will I need to access quickly, what can be stored, what more or less do I need. So here's my current set up. Still waiting on my Esstac pouches to come in and some little odds and ends to put together. Going to go through all of this and make sure im good to go for the weekend. Helmet hardly gets used now that im going into longer ranges so a baseball hat and comtacs work just fine. I would like to do a video in the near future breaking down my gear and contents. Maybe ill throw a gear list up.

I'd like to have groups running a basic core of some stuff so when it goes sideways, those of us ready to go can interdepend on each other's gear if it comes to it.

Yea it sucks wasting money on gear especially these days. My gear might not work for everyone like brand specific but its everything I believe every fighter should have.

Well if a couple of you all got together and drafted a recommendation list, that would greatly help those of us who are new to unit stuff and may have to quickly learn overnight some of the basics.

Battle belt, plate carrier or chest rig, mag pouches, extra mags, quality sling, quality holster, good boots to start. Keep calibers nato. Most common 9mm, 5.56, 7.62x51

I've never been in a "unit" so i cant add anything useful there. If you conceal carry that will be good enough, provided you carry spare mags. You're more likely to draw from concealed, more often, than working around a chest rig and drop holster. Wear cargo pants and have rifle mags ready to stuff into the oversized pockets

Only reason I'd wear a plate carrier was if I was guarding an area. I don't and won't run plates. Too cumbersome and would slow me down. I saw it happen last weekend. When we're at war you can "kit up" and you'd better be practicing with the additional gear and weight. Stay light, stay fast, and keep moving.

Imagine if we had to meet up and travel as a unit. Again, look at it from 10k feet. If people had to buy gear, they can use our guide and be more compatible with other units. Think less one-off and more combat militia... if you are in a unit, what would that unit generally want you to bring. Comms, aid, firepower, armor, Basecamp, etc. We as uspc should put together a basic core list of things a local unit should have I'd think.
