During the Wisconsin ARES RACES convention last weekend, WeComm announced that their state-wide network of repeater towers will no longer be operating as a connected network system. Until further notice, individual repeater towers, like the one we use in nearby Plymouth, will continue to function in their immediate service areas only. WeComm's increasing operational costs and reduced revenue sources forced them to make these service reductions to balance their budget. Let us hope these changes allow them to remain on the air.
